Global warming is a hot topic & the Life on the Planet earth may vanish after 2012. Whether it is right or wrong the Movie could be money spinner.
As a structural Engineer I wish to point out that the Center of Gravity of the Earth may shift due to construction of increasing number of multistoeried buildings & excavation of Oil, Coal & other Natural resources from deep depths of the ground. On one side you are increasing point loads on the surface of the Earth whereas on the otherside you are creating deep holes which could create rotational effect & increase in number of Earthquakes
It is likely to disbalance the rotation of the Earth on it's own axis/around the Sun. & tilting of the Earth. A slight variation in the shifting of the eliptical path of movement of Earth around the Sun will result in catostrophic consequences for life on Earth.
Some of the multistoried buildings constructed around the world within the last 10-15 years & are having approximately 100 storeys. 500 meters high > In Newyork only there may be moe than 100 buildings which around Sixty stories High.
hong kong,(international finance tower) zin mau tower( china), juangdow west center(china), petronas tower(malasia), taipei, dubai, Similarly in the Usa more than 50 multistoried buildings which are 60 floors or more exist in New York only.
All Structural Engineering Calculations are based on the Center of Gravity Bending Moment, Torsion, Shear Force etc. It is high time that the modern day Civil Engineers study the, Energy consumption, Gas Emissions in the manufacture of Steel, Coment, Plastics used in the construction of these buildings. Subsequently the amount of Energy needed for Air Conditioning, incenerators , maintanance etc.
The earths surface is loaded with these heavy structure & other hand the solid ores & oils are being excavated to meet the increasing demand of energy. www.vastuengineer.com

IMF FORECAST

A senior Economist of the IMF yesterday forecasted that the worst Financial crises is yet to Come & the revival may come back only in 2010. He is not the only economist one who is predicting this thing but there is mushroom growth of Economists who are giving similar Statement.. Did any Economist predict about such a big Financial crises?

PANIC IN FINANCIAL MARKETSSIMILAR TO THE GLOBAL OIL CRISES NOW THE FINANCIAL CRISES HAS ERUPTED & ONCE AGAIN THE WORLD IS THINKING WHY? THE QUESTIONS RAISED ARE SIMILAR TO THE ONES MENTIONED BELOW ? THE OIL PRICES HAVE GONE TO LEVEL OF $70. WHY? ONCE AGAIN IT IS PLANETARY INFLUENCE & IS TEMPORARY.IT REMINDS ME OF A OLD STORYA FARMER HAD THREE SONS, WITH THE PASSAGE OF TIME WHEN THEY YOUNG. FATHER WANTED THEM TO GO TO THE CITY & EARN MONEY SO HE GAME EACH ONE OF THEM ONE BASKET. FIRST HAD BANANA, THE SECOND HAD PEANUTS, & THE THIRD HAD APPLES.THE FARMER GAVE THEM ONE DOLLAR & TOLD THEM TO EAT SOMETHING DURING LUNCHTIME.WHEN THE FIRST SON HAVING BANANAS FELT HUNGRY HE GAVE $1 TO THE SECOND ONE & BOUGHT PEANUTS.SIMILARLY WHEN NO. 2 FELT HUMGRY HE GAVE SAME $1 TO THE NO. 3 & BOUGHT APPLESSIMILARLY WHEN NO. 3 FELT HUNGRY HE GAVE THE SAME $1 TO NO. 1 & BOUGHT BANANASTHIS CYCLE WENT ON FOR THE WHOLE DAY & IN THE EVENING ALL THE BASKETS WERE EMPTY & THE SALE PROCEEDS WAS ONLY $1 WHICH THEIR FATHER HAD GIVEN IN THE MORNING SIMILAR IS THE SITUATION OF OUR GLOBAL SHARE MARKETS.

BAN CEMENT & STEEL IN CONSTRUCTION

In recent years there is a growing concern about the increasing Global warming, As a Structural Engineer with specialisation in Reinforced Cement Concrete & Steel Structure I have lately started thinking that modern Civil Engineeing is Major Cause in the Global warming. cement & steel came into existense only within the last two Hundred Years. But the world has had it's existense for over two thousand years & Global Warming was never a serious issue. In the name of development & status symbol Mega Multistoried Buildings are coming up in many parts of the world. Just imagine the quantity of cement & steel consumed in these buildings. Even in small One & two storied Building extensive use of Cement & Steel is being done.This steel & cement has to be produced in factories which emit enormous amounts of heat & gases. Almost all these building need Airconditioning requiring huge amount of Electricity. Why can't we promte the use of locally available building material Like Bricks, Lime, Stones. 13 / 18 inch Load Bearing with ceiling heights above 18 ft. & ventilators provide very comfortable Living

REGARDING GREENLAND EARTHQUAKES IT HAS BEEN STATED THAT DUE TO MELTING OF ICE THE WATER IS FLOWING BETWEEN THE ROCKS & IS BECOMING THE CAUSE OF EARTHQUAKES. IT COULD BE ONE OF REASONS FOR GREENLAND BUT
AS A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER WITH FOUNDATION ENGINEERING AS ADDITIONAL STUDY I AM OF THE OPINION THAT THE IT IS DUE TO THE CONCENTRATION OF INCREASING NUMBER OF HIGH RISE BUILDING & CONCENTRATION OF POPULATION IN FEW CITIES.IT IS CREATING PIN POINT LOADS INTEAD OF UNIFORMLY DISTRIBUTED LOADING ON EARTH/S CRUST
